ABSTRACT

During the recent COVID-19 world pandemic, we report the case of a 12-year-old patient referred to our hospital with hip pain and limping who had been diagnosed with COVID-19 two weeks before. Altogether, normal X-ray and laboratory findings, alongside an ultrasound compatible with synovitis let us diagnose transient synovitis. The patient was treated with anti-inflammatory drugs and rest, with satisfactory evolution. Conclusions: Coronavirus led to a proinflammatory situation which might be cause of atypical symptoms. We described one of the first cases of post SARS-CoV-2 transient synovitis. However, more studies are needed to stablish causal relationship.
