ABSTRACT

Treatment of clinically significant diabetic macular edema is the topic of our review. This condition is the first cause of vision loss in diabetic patients. Treatment options include anti-VEFG drugs, steroids and surgery (vitrectomy with internal limiting membrane peeling). There is no an ideal treatment at present. Optic coherence tomography is a useful tool to predict final vision in these patients.
