ABSTRACT

The Advanced Movement of the Cuban Medical Universities has the name of Mario Muñoz Monroy, a young revolutionary doctor who fought by the fairest causes of his time, who due to his exceptional qualities has become in an important figure of Cuban history. In the present investigation 12 bibliographic references were reviewed with the final objective of identify the moments of the “Moncada’s Doctor” life and works which makes him deserve the honor of the fact that the mentioned organization carry his name. The conclusion was that Mario Muñoz Monroy was linked to the students fights, he was an integral man who project himself in many activities such as medicine, sports, broadcast and aviation; his sense of humanism and unconditional commitment with the Cuban Revolution makes him be considered a paradigm of all other Cuban revolutionary doctors, a model to all generations of doctors trained in Cuba.
