ABSTRACT

Vascular endothelium presents multiple functions, e.g., vasomotor, regulator of several tissular responses, anti-thrombogenic, anti-sclerosis, so it is a critical factor in the vascular disease pathogenesis and treatment. A broad field that is studying endothelial repair mechanisms along with statins therapy is currently under development. These drugs augment circulating steam endothelial cells. This effect, along with statins hypercholesterolemia control, is of such importance in the endothelial dysfunction and atherosclerosis treatments.
