ABSTRACT

The aim of this work is to carry out an analysis of family dynamics in Mexican nuclear families from emotional dependence, for this, indepth interviews were conducted with three middle-class families composed by three members. For data analysis, we start from the triangle as the unit of analysis, and how it develops and changes as the family evolves through different moments of the life cycle. The results show how family dynamics allow responding to the needs and demands of the system at the same time as the level of emotional dependence and the level of anxiety in family relationships allows adjustment to new roles and ways of relating.
