ABSTRACT

The keratoconus is included within the degenerative corneal alterations that produce a deformation of progressive thinning. This alteration is of central or paracentral predominance and the cornea tends to form a conical shape, it is usually hereditary origin. Topography has made early detection possible. Treatment which begins with the surgical procedure of penetrating keratoplasty.
