ABSTRACT

In this paper we focused on a specific institution of university education: the FES Iztacala UNAM. We are interested in the way in which it is touched by violence in its process of curricular change, when the lecturing of psychoanalysis comes into play. New administrative and academic difficulties appear, violence emerges generating professor unrest. The professor, by being forced to lecture content outside their fields of education, is overloaded with prejudices, affective states, which influence the way students relate to the diversity of approaches in psychology. To understand this situation, we addressed the relationship between psychoanalysisuniversity and the way Sigmund Freud analyzes violence at different moments of his work; subsequently we recover the narrative of some professors obliged to lecture psychoanalytic contents. We thought that there is a close relationship between power and knowledge, and when there is a desire to impose knowledge, this can produce violence. However, there are alternatives for such transformation.
