ABSTRACT

In the Service of Nephrology of the National Institute of Cardiology Ignacio Chavez is made the procedure of hemodialysis with extracorporeal equipment that has a high cost, reason why settles down its reusability . The process of maintenance of this one equipment carries out it the infirmary personnel; what does necessary to know the quality whereupon is made this one process, thus is made is investigation. Objectives: To determine the efficiency index and to establish a quality standard that allows to evaluate the procedure. Material and methods: The study was observational, nonparticipant, descriptive, qualitative and prospective; evaluation it was with an audit certificate; been worth the certificate with the Alpha of Crombach. The interventions for the improvement included; qualification of the personnel of infirmary and diffusion of the standardized process. Results: In each evaluation stage 144 processes were observed, in the first index of global efficiency was of 72%, in second 92% and in third 95 %, determination which activities was with deficient. Conclusions: Investigation allowed to validate the audit certificate, to obtain the index of global efficiency and the standard of quality of the procedure, thus like evaluating the effectiveness of the interventions of improvement; that it represents greater benefit for the patient with hemodialysis .
