ABSTRACT

Introduction: the computerization of Information Systems in Health does not remain alien to ethical problems. The professional of this branch of Health Technology has an inevitable responsibility before the community to which he provides his services, but he must also possess skills and values that respond to the profession he exercises, he must have ethics. Objective: to define ethics with a focus from the computerization of health information systems. Development: from the analyzed theoretical references, it was found that the majority of the authors consulted focus on the process of development of ethics as a philosophical category and the relationship with health information, however little is deepened in the relationship with the process of computerization of Information Systems, in which health information professionals are involved, who interact with computer solutions. Conclusion: ethics was defined with a focus from the computerization of Health Information Systems, enriching the epistemic bases of Health Technology as a branch within Medical Education, which is considered a young science under construction.
