ABSTRACT

Psychodermatoses are caused by a psychoemotional and impulse control disorder. In the modification of the DSM-5, trichotillomania and its derivatives have been included within obsessive-compulsive disorders (OCD), while in dermatology they are classified within dermatoses associated with primary psychiatric disorders. Treatment in this group of patients is a challenge since it is usually multidisciplinary and slow in its evolution. We present three cases of psychodermatosis: trichotillomania, trichotheiromania and trichotemnomania as well as their treatment.
