ABSTRACT

A 2-year-old patient presents with a painless or faltering gait. After the detection of a normal physical examination for both hips and gait claudication, plain radiographs of the bony pelvis in the anteroposterior and lateral views showed alterations typical of epiphyseal dysplastic diseases. Upon consultation with the specialist in Radiology, a bilateral epiphyseal dysplasia of the proximal femur was diagnosed. In addition, consultation was made with specialists in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, who indicated a rehabilitative treatment. Six months later, she returned to the consultation due to coxalgia and gait claudication, rest and diagnostic ultrasound were indicated, which required synovitis of the hip, but after six weeks of treatment she continued without symptomatic relief, an evolutionary assessment was performed. , with new simple radiological studies of the bony pelvis, which allowed the diagnosis of Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease to be made.
