ABSTRACT

Coronary Heart Disease is the most frequent cause of mortality in adults. In order to decrease the impact of this illness, there is a need to implement a comprehensive preventive strategy, at both the clinical and the population levels. The advantages and limitations of these strategies illustrate the importance of a joint effort from clinicians, public health professionals and government organizations in the prevention of chronic diseases with epidemic proportions.
