ABSTRACT

Hidradenitis suppurativa is a condition characterized by the chronicity of its injuries, owing mainly to the constant formation of subcutaneous nodulations with fistulous tracts prone to colonization and infection. Surgical treatment is reserved for exceptional cases. The objective of this work is to describe the use of the latissimus dorsi flap as a good resource for the surgical management of this disease. We present the case of a 32-year-old woman with axillary hidradenitis suppurativa Hurley III, who underwent definitive surgical management with a latissimus dorsi flap. We conclude that finding the right moment to intervene and use flaps of this type is essential to improve the quality of patients' lives.
