ABSTRACT

Pemphigus erythematosus represents a variety of pemphigus foliaceus; clinically, it manifests as well-defined erythematosquamous or erythematous crusted plaques with a seborrheic appearance and distribution. Diagnosis is sometimes difficult in localized or initial forms. Treatment depends on the extent of the disease. Most authors report greater efficacy with topical or intralesional steroids in localized lesions and systemic in disseminated cases; although there are other therapeutic options. This article describes the case of a 71-year-old male with an erythemato-squamous lesion on the left dorsal aspect of the nose of five month-evolution.
