Action mechanism of the nitric oxide in the organism and its action as therapeutic agent

ABSTRACT

In the present bibliographical review the nitric oxide is analyzed as element of the environment, chemical and biological properties, participation in some functions of the organism as well as his therapeutic use, with the intention of offering information updated to the professional of nursing and him her it he, she, allows to take measurements standard of occupational safety, as well as to base its, her elegant specifics on patients with this treatment. The nitric oxide has a great importance in physiological processes and physiopathologic, its applications in anesthesiology and unit of intensive care they are changed due to its capacity of vasodilative pulmonary. From the year 1999 in the National Institute of Cardiology “Ignacio Chávez” is used this gas in the service of intensive therapy as treatment of pulmonary hypertension (HTP) in the postoperatory one of the cardiac surgery, both in children and in adults. Its use is every more frequent day, inside its, disadvantages one finds the cost economic raised, the safeties measurements that it is required the administration, this nevertheless is compensated since the reduction of the times has been demonstrated averages of stay in this pathologies and has allowed to increase the survival of the patients.
