Determination of the level of efficiency for the washing hands process

ABSTRACT

Washing of hands is one methods more effective an simple for preventive propagation of microbes, the impact of fulfill washing of hands in reduction of Nosocomial Infections (IN) to calculate from 50%; considering that security measures as indicator of quality. In the health institutions, them evaluate of nursery care, across indicator of quality; for risk in your population; is important to include correct washing hands im procedures step for step. We beging investigation with next objectives: obtain of level of efficiency and establishment a quality standard for the washing hands together and reafirm the knowledgements about the wash on the hands. Methods: To realize investigation descriptive, longitudinal, observational, and prospective for phases, in the first it; was elaborated one evaluation describe step for step the technic to began and end it this activity; selection for application four clinical areas, across watch directly to 50% of nurses that realizing procedure; with the results a program of an improvement quality establishment an nual realizing evaluations and application necessary strategies for maintaining or getting better standard. Results: In every step of the study 75 cases were observed that correspond to the 50% of the total personal of services chosem, in the first phase the application the cell is obtained index of efficiency (IE) from the wash hands. It 5.1% after the plan intervention, it was obtained a IE from 46.7%; and third phase of observation it was gotten a IE from 69% the degree of advance in IE between the first and third phase is 64.7%. Conclusions: Efficiency level of process of washing hands is more step of flument we belive that it true to improve with capacitation in annual periods of time that assure the quality of the process. The degree of getting better as been relevant, never the less it will be continue and it will make extensive the program to all the staff in the clinical areas with the purpose of decrease risks for the frequency intra hospitalary infections.
