ABSTRACT

Acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis is characterized by small sterile pustules on an erythematous and infiltrated base. It is a rare disease in children, currently linked to drugs, viral infections and allergens. We present the case of a 2-year-old male patient. He presented with fever, erythema and pustular skin lesions, with a history of recent treatment with amoxacillin for upper respiratory infection. The clinical diagnosis was confirmed by histopathology. This case is presented due to the infrequency of this entity in pediatric age. It is necessary the early detection of acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, because it allows to dismiss other diagnoses that motivate inadequate behaviors and/or therapeutics in the patient, which can generate a greater risk for his health.
