ABSTRACT

Introduction: poor adherence to treatment leads to treatment failure and abandonment, which is why it is important to identify risk factors related to this problem and thus be able to have an adequate intervention. Objective: to determine if the family social climate is a risk factor for adherence to treatment in patients with sensitive tuberculosis. Material and methods: analytical cohort study, the population was made up of patients older than 18 years with a diagnosis of tuberculosis who received sensitive scheme treatment during the period January to June 2018 from the jurisdiction of the Hospital Nacional Dos de Mayo, the test de Moss was applied for the variable family social climate. Results: it was found that 29% of the patients did not have an adequate family social climate, which was a risk factor for poor adherence to treatment (RRa: 2.55). Conclusions: family and social support is an important axis in adherence to treatment in patients with tuberculosis.
