ABSTRACT

Introduction: Iatrogenic allogenosis arises from the beginning of the use of fillers more than a century ago. The breasts did not escape this phenomenon and to this day, multiple substances foreign to the body have been used to give them a better shape, size and projection, which can cause local and systemic complications, which can be irreversible and even cause death. Cuba is not exempt from these types of complications.
Objective: To show one of the forms of presentation of this entity, its diagnosis and treatment in a patient who infiltrated liquid silicone in both breasts.
Case presentation: A 45-year-old female health patient is described who, more than 8 years ago, underwent liquid silicone infiltration in both breasts to increase her volume. About two years ago she began to feel "discomfort" and "lumps" that were bilaterally spread in all breast quadrants. She undergoes clinical and radiological examinations diagnosing a secondary allogenosis. Bilateral mastectomy and placement of tissue expanders are performed. Three months after the total expansion of it, they are changed for permanent prostheses.
Conclusions: Injecting liquid silicone into the breasts can bring complications that often appear years after the procedure. These can be local, systemic and irreversible. A wide surgical resection of the affected tissues is the treatment of choice, significantly reducing the risk of recurrences as well as performing an immediate reconstruction. In this case, the patient has evolved satisfactorily.
