ABSTRACT

Introduction: Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in female population of the world, being multivessel coronary artery disease the principal responsible for these deaths.
Objective: To identify the possible relationship of clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic variables with cardiovascular adverse events in women with multivessel coronary arterial disease, at Cardiovascular Institute from January 2016 to December 2018.
Method: Observational, descriptive and prospective survey involving 107 female patients admitted in this period in Cardiovascular Institute, with diagnosis of multivessel coronary arterial disease.
Results: The mean age was 66, 5 years. Hypertension and diabetes were the most frequent risk factors. Early menopause was reported in 43, 9% of the sample and gestational diabetes was commonly stated. Multivessel coronary arterial disease without lead mean affection was found in 71% of patients. Angioplasty was performance in 61, 7% of these women. 51,4% of all adverse events occurred during the first year of follow up. Cardiovascular adverse events were toughly associated to obstetric variables.
Conclusions: Cardiovascular adverse events were more associated with obstetric variables than others (clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic variables) in women with multivessel coronary arterial disease.
