ABSTRACT

Organ transplants have proven to be a successful treatment that allows the survival of patients with limited treatment options, such as a shortage of organs. That is why new alternatives arise, such as xenotransplantation. However, like all transplants, the use of this alternative poses some ethical challenges that arise as this technique has evolved. There are some points that must be considered, not only from medical ethics, but also from politics, the environment, and the scientific-technological field. The purpose of this reflection is to understand some of the ethical considerations that arise from this procedure.
