ABSTRACT

A lymphocele in a kidney transplant is a collection of lymph in the retroperitoneum that lacks epithelial lining and is often located around the graft. Lymphocele is a complication that occurs with a frequency of up to 50%, however only from 0.6 to 14.6% of cases require treatment with a mean of 5.88%. We present the case of a patient with lymphocele who required treatment managed through a laparoscopic peritoneal window. Prevention measures in this context take on transcendent importance because a correct dissection, nephrectomy and bench surgery can help reduce the incidence of this pathology.
