ABSTRACT

Currently, a tilt table test is a useful tool in clinical practice to assess the diagnosis of vasovagal and neurocardiogenic syncopes. In this test, patients without cardiopathies and with fainhing episodes of unknown origin reproduce vasovagal symptoms (hypotension and bradychardia) when they are exposed to orthostatic stress which can be compared with a neurogenic vasovagal syncope. Nursing interventions during this procedure are of great importance to ensure an adequate care.
