ABSTRACT

Introduction: the post-COVID-19 Functional Status Scale (PCFS) is an approved and recommended instrument for the subacute assessment of residual symptoms and measurement of the degree of functionality of a patient. The objective of this study was to identify the post-COVID-19 functional status in IMSS-Yucatán patients and their epidemiological profile. Material and methods: descriptive, cross-sectional, observational and ambispective study. Forty-two patients previously hospitalized for COVID-19 at HGR No. 1 "Lic. Ignacio García Téllez" of IMSS-Yucatán (HGR1-IMSS-Yucatán) who were in a subacute period between 6 and 8 weeks were included. They were interviewed by telephone and clinical-epidemiological and functional status data were obtained using the EFPC scale. Results: based on the responses to the questionnaire, 76.19% of the respondents reported some level of limitation at the time of the questionnaire. Of the hospitalized patients, the most frequent level of limitation was "non-significant limitation" with 17(35.41%) patients. Conclusion: patients discharged from hospitalization for COVID-19 in an IMSS Yucatan hospital in the subacute period were mostly men, with medium-high schooling, average age of 53.5 years and mostly with symptoms that do not limit their functionality.
