ABSTRACT
Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is a pathology of public health interest, due to the motor, sensory and respiratory sequelae that it can leave. The condition does not discriminate between age or sex, occurring more frequently in men. A remarkable feature of this disease of the lower motor neurons is that it can have variants that go beyond what has been published in the literature in past decades, including atypical forms and even the possibility of overlapping these variants. It is also possible that these variants overlap with each other. To date, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up for clinicians at the three levels of healthcare is a challenge. We present an atypical case with suspected overlap of some variants of Guillain-Barré syndrome.
