ABSTRACT
During the development of the XII International Congress of the Dominican Society of Family and Community Medicine (SODOMEFYC), both the Mexican Council for Certification in Family Medicine AC (CMCMF) and the Mexican Federation of Specialists and Residents in Family Medicine AC (FMERMF) carried out an extensive analysis of the areas of opportunity that the Congress presented- to advance in two of the substantive purposes that had been proposed: end endocentrism, caused by the little or no international dissemination of the achievements of the CMCMF and the FMERMF, with which the recognition of Mexico as a benchmark in Ibero-America was largely lost, and to recover the international leadership of Mexican Family Medicine through of the regional empowerment of both national institutions and, simultaneously, contribute to the development of Family Medicine in the constituent countries of the region.REFERENCES
