ABSTRACT

The musical note flap (MNF) is an angular transposition flap, which is used for the closure of circular defects by means of a triangular contour flap. It is used particularly for defects in facial cosmetic units, although it can be used on other parts of the body, particularly the head and neck. Tumor excision is performed taking into account the relaxed skin tension lines (RSTL), and a tangential line to the defect of approximately 1 to 1.5 times its diameter is drawn, ending at an angle of approximately 50 to 60º with a length of the diameter of the circular defect.
