ABSTRACT

COVID-19 is a respiratory disease caused by SARS-CoV-2. The main way of transmission is through droplets from the aero-digestive tract of infected people and their deposition in the mucosa. The purpose of this article is to describe the different types of masks to prevent and control COVID 19. The most recent reports were consulted in the data base PubMed, in February, 2021. The use of masks prevents that the carrier and the population in general, do not acquire viral respiratory infections such as la COVID-19.
