ABSTRACT

Nodular chondrodermatitis of the helix (NCH) is a disease that generally affects fair-skinned men of middle-advanced age and is characterized by one or several painful and ulcerated nodules in the ear. Its origin is multifactorial and may be related to the anatomy of the auricle itself and repetitive trauma, among other factors. Cases have been reported after Mohs micrographic surgery (MMS) on the nasal cartilage. Although clinically it can be confused with skin carcinoma, a histopathological study is necessary to confirm the diagnosis. We present two cases of nch associated with this surgical technique performed for the treatment of squamous cell carcinomas in the ear.
