ABSTRACT

Unilateral and bilateral cleft lips always have nasal deformities. A universally accepted concept is to correct the nose early on at the same surgical time lips are closed, achieving the secondary deformity to be minimal or totally disappear in the first surgery or when incorrect techniques are used. In this paper, the surgical techniques for primary nasal correction are described as well the secondary techniques performed by the author over the last 25 years. Some representative cases of primary and secondary nasal surgeries are presented.
