ABSTRACT

Introduction: Facial aging is a process unique and exclusive for each individual. It is influenced by solar radiation and toxic habits. An aged face is characterized by deflation and tissue descent, a reason why combining repositioning, filler and rhytidectomy techniques offers better outcomes.
Objective: To describe the outcomes of cervicofacial rhytidectomy combined with blepharoplasty, submental liposuction and lipoinjection in facial rejuvenation.
Methods: A descriptive, prospective and longitudinal study was carried out with thirty patients cared for at the plastic surgery service of Hermanos Ameijeiras Clinical Surgical Hospital, in the period from January 2018 to December 2019. The study included patients with flaccid eyelids, facial fat atrophy and aging of the middle third of the face, with normal preoperative examinations. Patients with a history of previous surgeries, infiltration of modeling substances, hyaluronic acid, tensor threads, malignant skin lesions, smokers, as well as with any oncologic or chronic decompensated disease, were excluded.
Results: 100% of the patients underwent cervicofacial rhytidectomy, upper and lower blepharoplasty, submental liposuction and lipoinjection of the peribuccal region. 53.33% were at ages between 50 and 59 years. Patients of female gender accounted for 93.33% and 70% had white skin color. Glogau grade III was predominant, accounting for 73.3%. 80% percent of the outcomes were good, without complications, and 93.3% of the patients were satisfied.
Conclusions: In facial rejuvenation, cervicofacial rhytidectomy with superficial musculoaponeurotic system dissection combined with blepharoplasty, submental liposuction and lipoinjection offered better outcomes in patients under the sixth decade of age, with few complications and high satisfaction.
