ABSTRACT

Introduction: Aesthetic medicine is a medical specialty that deals with the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of skin alterations making use of new, minimally invasive technologies with lower risk and better aesthetic outcomes.
Objective: To develop integrative therapies for the treatment of aging in the Cuban population.
Methods:v A prospective study was carried out with 32 real subjects cared for at the aesthetic medicine office of Las Praderas Medical Center, from July 23 to August 4, 2018, with outpatient follow-up for one month.
Results: Subjects over 50 years of age and corrective procedures predominated, compared to regenerative procedures, accosting for more than 50 % of the patients (28 % with botulinum toxin, and 30 % with fillers). Each studied subject underwent two or more protocols, with mostly immediate outcomes. Pain intensity never reached level four on an assessment scale from one to ten. Posttreatment daily activity was not limited in 100 % of the sample. Very good outcomes predominated, with high satisfaction rates.
Conclusions: Most of the performed protocols correspond to corrective treatments, with evident improvement. Late response to treatment was evidenced only in the botulinum toxin protocol, without complications.
