ABSTRACT

Background: the didactic guides in higher education offer the student information about the content and how to manage knowledge.
Objective: to elaborate didactic guides on Antimicrobial aspects that allow to improve the teaching of the Clinical Pharmacology subject in the Medicine degree.
Methods: a development research was carried out at Villa Clara University of Medical Sciences in the period from January to July 2019. The research was organized in three stages. Theoretical methods were used: analysis-synthesis and induction-deduction; and empirical ones: documentary review, and specialist criteria for the evaluation of the designed product.
Results: the analysis of the Antimicrobial topic grades of the Clinical Pharmacology subject showed unsatisfactory results, which evidenced the need for the design and use of study guides, for which their preparation constituted a work priority for the subject group based on the student preparation.
Conclusions: they were valued as positive by the specialists when guiding the students in their independent learning activity.
