ABSTRACT

Left ventricle aneurysms, secondary to processes related to blunt trauma of the heart, are usually in anterior location. However, when presenting in the diaphragmatic face of the heart, this is closely related to remodeling process linked to myocardial contusion with the thoracic spine, in a high energy impact due to deceleration. Treatment of this condition is compounded by placement of a intra-ventricular patch on the neck of the aneurism called endo-ventriculoplasty. This is the only option when it is related to the auriculo-ventricular groove, restoring the ventricular geometry while safeguarding the integrity of the coronary circumflex vessels.
