ABSTRACT
Evolving of techniques applied to cardiac surgery has improved the results in the last years, decreasing postoperative complications. The use of vaccum assisted closure (VAC) is a novel technique that we propose for the treatment in patients with a complicated pleural effussion with thoracic window as it may reduce morbidity and intrahospital stay. In this work we give the results of three postoperated patients of correction for Tetralogy of Fallot with insidious evolution presenting diaphragmatic paresia, pleural efussion, successfully managed by means of both thoracic window as well as VAC therapy.REFERENCES
