ABSTRACT

Aortic valve sparing operations are becoming an increasingly frequent tool for surgically treating proximal aortic aneurysms, either aortic root aneusysms or ascending aortic aneurysms. Even when all benefits have been recognized, this kind of techniques are always very demanding, and the learning curve too unforgiving. Even the slightest error takes disastrous consequences. A perfect ejecution is always needed. One of the most worrying issues is how to properly select the graft size. We analyze here in detail how to do it.
