ABSTRACT
Video-assisted cardioscopy is a technique used since 1910 in order to reduce surgical trauma. This can be done by adapting the pediatric thoracoscopic surgical instruments. It is useful for obtaining accurate images of intracardiac tumors with a lower degree of trauma. With this technique, anatomical visualization of small and inaccessible structures can be obtained, reducing invasiveness and surgical time. We present the case of a 1-month-old male patient with diagnosis of right ventricular tumor, who underwent cardiopulmonary bypass and cardioplegic cardiac arrest. Video-assisted cardioscopy was used to perform transoperative biopsy and tumor resection.REFERENCES
