ABSTRACT
Mechanical circulatory support is a great utility in life-threatening
refractory cardiogenic shock of any cause. It allows taking
diverse decision-making therapies to patient recovery. We
report the case of a fifth-decade life man with clinical setting
of severe airway infection followed by acute heart failure and
irreversible cardiogenic shock secondary to fulminant myocarditis,
stabilized undergone mechanical circulatory support
and extra-corporeal membrane oxigenation. One year later, he
is totally integrated to normal life. We state the importance of
early circulatory support for potential recovery of myocardial
function.
