ABSTRACT

Report case of female patient of 17 years diagnosed with mechanical valve prosthesis dysfunction in pulmonary position, operated at 4 and 8 years old for tetralogy of Fallot. At the second surgery, the prosthesis above referred is placed. In this third surgery with dysfunctional prosthesis by endocardial tissue it was also hypoplastic pulmonary annulus (15 Fr), which made it impossible the prosthesis replacement. Because of these findings, we decided to use a valved bovine jugular (Contegra).
