Chronic Hyperplastic Pulpitis: a case presentation

ABSTRACT

Introduction: The dental pulp is a connective tissue that can trigger the appearance of various pulpal pathologies: The pulpal polyp is defined as a type of irreversible chronic open pulpitis, it occurs when the pulp has been exposed by caries or trauma, it is asymptomatic, clinically there is a proliferation of granulomatous tissue, cauliflower appearance, with pale red coloration commonly covered by epithelium of the oral mucosa.
Patient and method: Presented at the dental clinic of the Universidad de la Sierra Sur (UNSIS). A 12-year-old female patient, when performing the intraoral exploration, the presence of two pulp polyps was identified in the dental organs 74 and 75, surgical procedure to extract the affected teeth.
Conclusion: Pulpal diseases is one of the most frequent reasons in dental consultation, for this reason it is important to prioritize preventive oral health care.
