ABSTRACT
The supraclavicular flap has been used since 1970 for reconstructing defects of the face and neck. It is considered a cornerstone owing to certain aesthetic characteristics that match those of the face and neck skin, its practicality and effectiveness. Besides this, it does not need infrastructure or expertise in microsurgery to be able to carry it out. It has a very low morbidity since muscle is not required for this technique. This paper presents the case of an elderly patient who underwent the resection of a large face and neck tumor and reconstruction afterwards with the supraclavicular flap, restoring the skin cover of a large area in the face and neck with the best option with excellent results in terms of aesthetic and function, which is why this technique is described hereafter and some aspects to carry out the procedure are described, highlighting its advantages and advice in order to obtain the best results and to avoid complications.
