ABSTRACT
Keloid scars are formed by chronic swelling of the reticular dermis, are more common among Africans, and appear in areas such as ears, anterior and posterior thorax. They have a recurrence from 3 to 25%. Different treatments have been developed for keloid scars, usually being combined for better results. In this article, we present a 15-year-old female patient with a keloid scar in the right helix, which was treated with preoperative triamcinolone, resection, and a personalized auricular compression device used for one year. This treatment resulted in a better aesthetic outcome without recurrence. It appears to be an effective treatment for keloid scars which involve most of the helix in pediatric patients, who cannot undergo any other type of adjuvant therapy.
