ABSTRACT

Pigmented lichen planus is an inflammatory, pigmentary disease characterized by gray to dark-brown macules, patches, and papules. It is symmetrical affecting mainly sun-exposed areas. Blaschkoid lichen planus is considered an exceptional variant of pigmented lichen planus, with a benign and self-limiting course. It follows Blaschko’s lines, forming a v on the upper part of the spine, a s shape on the abdominal wall, and a linear shape on the extremities. We present a 62-year-old man with this rare variety of pigmented lichen planus in a non-sun exposed area and unilateral in distribution, treated with topical steroid and good response to treatment.
