Terra firma-forme dermatosis: a frequent entity that goes unnoticed

ABSTRACT

Terra-firma forme dermatosis or dermatosis neglecta is a uncommon condition. It is characterized by dark, velvety, or dirt-like patches on the skin, resembling stains or grime, due to bad hygiene leading to accumulation of keratin. The diagnosis of terra firma-forme dermatosis is simple based clinical character and gentile removal by scrubbing with an alcohol-soaked cotton pad.
