Referral and consultation in a case of glossaigia in Primary Health Care in Dentistry. Information of a case

ABSTRACT

Glossaigia is a neurologic syndrome with oral manifestations of very variable prevalence.
The objective of the article is to present the importance of the referral and consultation, in the diagnosis and treatment of glossaigia, in Primary Health Care. It is about a female patient who goes to the dental emergency room complaining of pain, in the posterior part of the hard palate, she also reports manifestations of stress and anxiety because of working reasons, she is running her menopause. After the referral and consultation with maxillofacial surgery by the use of the clinical method, the definite diagnosis is given, glossaigia. The treatment is prescribed, and the follow-up treatment and evolution of the case go on. The importance of the referral and consultation is evident for General Comprehensive Dentists, as well as the supervision and recommendations of the Tertiary Health Care.
