ABSTRACT

We present the case of a late preterm baby born via vaginal delivery from a mother with dengue with warning signs at birth requiring resuscitation. The baby presented with respiratory distress, severe anemia at birth, fever, thrombocytopenia, coagulopathy, elevated liver enzymes, edema, ascites, and basal ganglia injury by ultrasound. The baby progressed favorably, and dengue was confirmed with polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing, isolating serotype II.
