ABSTRACT

Background: Shoulder pain is a very common musculoskeletal disorder that affects a large part of the population, with a point prevalence of up to 26%. Shoulder injuries can range from constant chronic pain to difficulty performing everyday movements.
Material and methods: The study was carried out in Family Medicine Unit number 62, Cuautitlán. This is an observational, descriptive, prolective and cross-sectional study, with a calculated sample of 143 patients, aged between 30-55 years, who have completed the SPADI test. Descriptive statistics were applied with SPSS v27 software.
Results: It was found that with respect to moderate disability there is a predominance of 60.1% (86 patients). Regarding the female sex, there is a predominance of 55.9% (80 patients). In the employee occupation, a predominance of 39.9% (57 patients) was found. Inrelation to those who perform repetitive movement at work, there is a prevalence of 94.4% (135 patients). Among those who perform ergonomics there are 72% (103 patients). Regarding those who do not perform physical activity, there is a predominance of 75.5% (108 patients). In age, 55 years was found more frequently with 10.5% (15 patients). For the work day, there were 65% (93 patients) of 9-12 hours. Furthermore, the most frequent nutritional status was overweight with 44.1% (63 patients). And of the disability days, 69.9% (100 patients) have not been generated.
Conclusion: Disability and pain are related to daily activities and other comorbidities as a risk factor for an increase in the frequency of presentation.
