ABSTRACT
Introduction: simulation has become a trend over the years, especially in medical education where the student develops in a safe environment. It has proven to be effective in acquiring technical skills and integrating complex clinical knowledge and skills.
Objective: use the OSCE as an evaluation method to improve the clinical skills and knowledge of medical students.
Material and methods: observational, ambispective and longitudinal study with the participation of 20 students in the tenth semester of the Bachelor of Surgeon, enrolled during the period January-May 2024.
Results: the 80% of the students have a qualitative rating between excellent and good in terms of interview with the patient; With emergency management, 80% score with a sufficient as well as in communication skills for difficult health news.
Conclusion: the test represents a valuable indicator to measure the student's skills. The OSCE allows a detailed and objective evaluation of these skills, potentially contributing to better medical training and patient safety.
