ABSTRACT
Hernán Pilar Salinas Cantú was a physician, a poet and a historian. Very sensible to human pain throughout his professional life, he was known as a dedicated physician even outside the domain of his office. He impelled the teaching of History of Medicine to his students, to introduce them to humanism. A simple happy and honest man, he left an unforgettable legacy to the state of Nuevo León´s physicians.
