International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health applied to people with posictus disability

ABSTRACT

The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health is considered a standardized document, which highlights the need to have information on functioning and disability in the individual and the population for planning services, and evaluation of interventions, programs and public health policies. A case with posictus disability is reported with a sequela of the right hemiparesis with 6 months of evolution. The objective was to present the physiatric diagnosis and the intervention proposal through the application of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health. Through the qualifiers of each component, the extension of the deficiency was quantified, and the rehabilitation intervention table was made. It is concluded that this classification is a useful clinical and research tool to carry out the physiatric diagnosis, the intervention proposal and the follow-up in the care of people with disabilities.
